Our top Isle of Palms rental booking tips and tricks:
Cost saving strategies:
- Booking your Isle of Palms vacation home in Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, management companies supply Isle of Palms area travel guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Select vacation week and budget.
- Gorgeous Character Home w\/ Pool, Sun Room & Pool Table! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Isle of Palms rentals search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's a specific Isle of Palms destination you are crazy about, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
Know before you go:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
