Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation rental experience:
When to go & When to book:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Booking in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local Isle of Palms visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Narrow your Search:
- Select a group leader, select your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
- Stunning Isle Of Palms Home w\/ Pool! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what is optimal for your vacation.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
More considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Contact the rental manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to inspire new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
