Our top Isle of Palms vacation rental booking tips:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Isle of Palms area. Book your Isle of Palms rental in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Isle of Palms area visitor guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting the best vacation rental in the Isle of Palms area:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Sawyer by AvantStay
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before reserving the property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or may be applied to your contract.
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the property manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to drive future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
