Isle of Palms vacation rental booking tips:
Sticking to your budget:
- In the Isle of Palms area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Summertime is high season in the Isle of Palms area. Book your Isle of Palms vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Isle of Palms visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines have coupons for nearby shops and restaurants.
Planning, picking, and booking a perfectrental home:
- Choose a group leader, choose your dates, and select a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Screen porch, Golf Cart, Pet friendly, Large fenced backyard; 5 min walk to beach! - 3009 Cameron has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Isle of Palms rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property management company before booking the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
Tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of issues.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the host immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a great stay? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
