Strategies for getting the best Isle of Palms vacation rental experience:
When to reserve a Isle of Palms rental & When to go:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Isle of Palms area. To find the best value, try changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, property management companies supply Isle of Palms area visitor guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- First, have your group agree to date ranges and a max budget.
- Ocean View w\/ Community Pool Access! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before you reserve the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your trip.
- If there's a certain Isle of Palms attraction you are enamored with, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- At Check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to drive more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
