Strategies to get the best Isle of Palms rental experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Summer months are high season in Isle of Palms. To find the best rental within your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Isle of Palms area travel guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your Search:
- Choose your dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Top floor 3-Bedroom Villa with Ocean Views and Pool Access has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is right for your vacation family.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Isle of Palms destination you love, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
Have a great stay:
- Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect your property!
- Note any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if there is a dispute.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to inspire more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
