Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Isle of Palms vacation rental experience:
Sticking to your spending plan:
- Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Finding the perfect rental home in Isle of Palms:
- Start by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- 3301 Palm by AvantStay has 7 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what is optimal for your vacation family.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Tips to have a terrific stay:
- Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if there is a dispute.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to drive future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
