Strategies to get the optimal Isle of Palms vacation home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Isle of Palms area. To book the largest rental for your budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Isle of Palms attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Isle of Palms visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Finding the best vacation home:
- Select a group leader, choose your dates, and select a spending budget.
- 3301 Palm by AvantStay has 7 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property management company before you book the home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
- If there's a certain Isle of Palms attraction you crave, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- During arrival, document any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to propel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
