Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Isle of Palms vacation rental experience:
When to reserve a Isle of Palms rental home & When to go:
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Reserve your Isle of Palms rental home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Isle of Palms area visitors guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Filter your rental search:
- Select your vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Beautiful Ocean Views w\/ Pool and Elevator! has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Isle of Palms rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the host before reserving your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your group.
- If there's an individual Isle of Palms attraction you long to visit, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Record any issues with the property during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your experience find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
