Strategies for getting the best Isle of Palms rental home experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in Isle of Palms. To get the best value, change your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, , and reduced traffic.
- Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, property management companies supply Isle of Palms area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the perfect rental:
- Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 'Isle be Back' 5 57th Ave- Great Ocean Views, private pool, elevator has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your trip.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's an individual Isle of Palms beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Know before you go:
- Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- Document any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if there is a dispute.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great feedback to propel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
