Strategies to get the optimal vacation property experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Isle of Palms. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a good way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies supply Isle of Palms area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to pick the perfect vacation home in Isle of Palms:
- To start, have your family decide on a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. ????3 53rd Ave~ Stunning Ocean Views, Pool, Hot Tub, Elevator, Mother-in-law Suite???? has 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you reserve the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is optimal for your vacation family.
- Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or might be applied to your contract.
More considerations for your visit:
- Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your visit, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the property manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental while you're away. Protect your property!
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
