Our top Isle of Palms vacation rental booking tips:
Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in the Isle of Palms area. To get the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Isle of Palms area visitors guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Start by selecting vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Private Pool, Ocean views, 2-blocks to beach has 6 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the host before you book the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what is best for your group.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Isle of Palms attraction you love, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
More tips for your stay:
- Add the host's information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- To make sure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas during check in. text the host immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
