Getting the best Isle of Palms vacation rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Summer is the most expensive season in Isle of Palms. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, management companies supply Isle of Palms area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and choose your prefectrental home:
- Choose your vacation week and spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Oceanfront Home, Pool, Direct Beach Access, Walk to Town, Pet Friendly w\/ fee- 808 Ocean has 6 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, call the host before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your family.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
Know before you go:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of issues.
- Lock your rental while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your life at home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to inspire future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
