Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Isle of Palms area. Book your vacation home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Some owners offer promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Isle of Palms visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Selecting the perfect rental in the Isle of Palms area:
- Choose a group leader, choose your dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 7 on 46th Ave~ NEW 5 bedrooms, LUXURY, pool, elevator has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible online. If not, contact the property management company before booking your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's an individual Isle of Palms attraction you are crazy about, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- Upon arrival, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent time? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
