Strategies for getting the best Isle of Palms rental home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in Isle of Palms. Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Some owners offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies supply Isle of Palms area travel guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Finding the best vacation home:
- Select a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and select a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Private Pool, Elevator, Golf Cart (fee), Golf Course view- 8 Hidden Green has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you book the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
- If there's a certain Isle of Palms beach you long to visit, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- At Check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be respectful. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a great time? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
