Tips to get the very best vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Summer is high season in Isle of Palms. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- In the Isle of Palms area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Isle of Palms area travel guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peace. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments.
