Our top Isle of Palms rental home tips:
Find your best deal:
- Summertime is high season in Isle of Palms. To get the most suitable rental home for your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Isle of Palms restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the Isle of Palms area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Isle of Palms visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
Narrow your Search:
- Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. 1 Intracoastal - Golf Views, Private Pool, Screen Porch, Theatre Room! has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what is best for your group.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or might be applied to your invoice.
Tips to have a fantastic stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the rental manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
