Isle of Palms vacation rental tips:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- In the Isle of Palms area, The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Summer is high season in Isle of Palms. Booking your Isle of Palms vacation home in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
How to select the best vacation home:
- First and foremost, have your family choose a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. 1 Intracoastal - Golf Views, Private Pool, Screen Porch, Theatre Room! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
More tips for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many problems.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Note any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if a dispute arises.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
