Tricks and tips to get the best Isle of Palms vacation property experience:
When to go & When to book:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best value, shift your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Isle of Palms area visitor guide magazines which include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Sunny and Bright Beach Home, 4 Bedroom 3 Baths, Open Floor Plan, Near Beach has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking websites. If not, call the host before you book the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a certain Isle of Palms attraction you crave, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Advice for your stay:
- Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- To make certain no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
