Vacation rental tips:

Sticking to your rental home budget:

  • In the Isle of Palms area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Summer time is high season in the Isle of Palms area. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring is a good way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Isle of Palms area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose and book your prefect Isle of Palms rental:

  • Begin by choosing trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Stunning Oceanfront Condo, Steps to Beach & Community Pool - 22 Beach Club has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. If not, call the host before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Upon check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peace. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a great stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
