- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- During check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
