Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best value, change your family's Isle of Palms vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies supply Isle of Palms area visitor guides which will include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and pick your Isle of Palms vacation home:
- First, have your group select vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. The FAMILY Spot in Wild Dunes - Walking Distance to Beach - Pool Access has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Isle of Palms rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. text the host immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to stimulate new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
