Strategies to get the perfect Isle of Palms rental home experience:

Getting the best rental value:

  • In the Isle of Palms area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To find the largest vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Isle of Palms restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Some property management companies offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Isle of Palms visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain discounts for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to pick the best rental home in Isle of Palms:

  • Select a group leader, choose your dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. The FAMILY Spot in Wild Dunes - Walking Distance to Beach - Pool Access has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property owner before reserving your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or could be applied to your invoice.
  • Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Upon arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to compel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
