Tips to get the best Isle of Palms rental home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Isle of Palms area. To book the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Isle of Palms area travel guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. The FAMILY Spot in Wild Dunes - Walking Distance to Beach - Pool Access has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Isle of Palms rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before booking the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your group.
- If there's an individual Isle of Palms beach you are crazy about, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs could be applied to your contract.
More considerations for your visit:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
