Tips and Tricks for getting the best Isle of Palms vacation property experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- Summertime is high season in Isle of Palms. To find the best rental within budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Isle of Palms restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, management companies supply Isle of Palms area visitor guide magazines which include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- First and foremost, have your family commit to a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. 125 Grand Pavillion by AvantStay
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you book the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to work out which bed configuration is best for your trip.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to compel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
