Booking the best Isle of Palms vacation home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Reserve your Isle of Palms rental home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for local tours and attractions.
How to choose and book your Isle of Palms rental home:
- Select a group lead, select your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. 203 Ocean Palms by AvantStay
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before you reserve the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or may be applied to your contract.
Tips to have a fantastic stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of concerns.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
