Strategies to get the perfect rental experience:
Get the best rental value:
- Summer months are high season in Isle of Palms. To find the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Isle of Palms restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- In the Isle of Palms area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Isle of Palms area visitors guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and pick the perfectvacation home:
- Select your vacation week and budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Oceanfront Condo in Wild Dunes! Community Pool! Great View of Beach! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property owner before you reserve the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if a dispute arises.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to propel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
