Isle of Palms vacation rental booking tips:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • In the Isle of Palms area, The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Isle of Palms area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Filter your search:

  • First, have your group decide on trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Oceanfront Condo with Pool Access in Wild Dunes has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property manager before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
  • If there's a specific Isle of Palms attraction you love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking

Advice for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many problems.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the rental manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to inspire future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
