Our top Isle of Palms rental home booking tips:
Money saving strategies:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- To find the best value, shift your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Hosts sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Isle of Palms area travel guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by having your group choose vacation dates and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Newly Remodeled Bathrooms - 8D Mariners Walk - Ocean Views - Wild Dunes has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out which bed configuration is right for your vacation family.
- If your family is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
Have a fantastic stay:
- Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas during check in. Speak to the rental manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a terrific time? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
