Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation property experience:
Get the most from your rental budget:
- Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is an excellent way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- In the Isle of Palms area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
How to pick the perfect rental in the Isle of Palms area:
- Select a group leader, choose your dates, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Newly Remodeled Bathrooms - 8D Mariners Walk - Ocean Views - Wild Dunes has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you book your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your group.
- If there's an individual Isle of Palms attraction you simply love, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. text the host right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to inspire more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
