Tips for getting the perfect vacation home experience:
Getting the most from your budget:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in the Isle of Palms area. Book your rental in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies supply Isle of Palms area visitor guide magazines that include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing the perfect rental home:
- Select a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. 518 Seascape
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If not, call the property management company before you reserve your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular Isle of Palms destination you are crazy about, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
Advice for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas upon check in. Call the host right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
