Strategies for getting the perfect Isle of Palms vacation property experience:
Get the best rental home value:
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
- In the Isle of Palms area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Isle of Palms visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning, selecting, and booking your prefect Isle of Palms rental home:
- Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Classic Family Beach Home w/Game Room & Private Pool! Short 1 Block Walk to Beach! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property manager before reserving your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a specific Isle of Palms beach you are crazy about, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
Tips for a wonderful stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
- To make sure that no damages are linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the host immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to compel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
