Tips to get the very best Isle of Palms vacation home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Isle of Palms. Reserve your rental home in Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Isle of Palms visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Make a plan and choose your prefect Isle of Palms rental:
- Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Seascapes~ 714 Ocean Blvd. Charming, Ocean Front, Private Pool has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
- If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few problems.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect your property!
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
