Isle of Palms rental booking tips and tricks:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a great way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Isle of Palms area travel guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Additional considerations:

- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
