Our top Isle of Palms vacation rental home tips and tricks:
When to visit & When to book:
- To book the most suitable rental home within budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many management companies supply Isle of Palms area visitors guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and choose yourrental:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Oceanfront Villa 1111 Hot Tub & Community Pool! Great Views! has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs may be applied to your contract.
Tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few issues.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to compel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
