How to book the best Isle of Palms rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Some property managers offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Isle of Palms visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to choose the best vacation home in the Isle of Palms area:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Tucked in among trees, get away in this charming home short walk to the beach has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking pages. If not, call the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental while you are out. Protect your property!
- Record any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to drive more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
