How to book the best Isle of Palms rental home experience:
How to get the best value:
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Isle of Palms area. To find the best value, consider changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many property management companies supply Isle of Palms area visitors guide magazines that include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing the perfect rental in the Isle of Palms area:

- Note the number beds and the configuration you need. Orchard by AvantStay
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Isle of Palms attraction you are enamored with, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
More tips for your stay:
- Add the host's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon check in. Call the host immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
