Strategies for getting the perfect Isle of Palms vacation rental experience:

When to book a Isle of Palms rental home & When to go:

  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. To find the best value, try changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, property management companies supply Isle of Palms area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Choose vacation week and spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. "The Tree House"- Oceanfront, Pool, Hot Tub, Elevator has 7 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property management company before you book the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • If your group is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .

Tips for a fantastic stay:

  • Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the rental manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a wonderful stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
