Rental home booking tips and tricks:
Finding the best rental home value:
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To get the most suitable rental home within your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Choosing the best rental in Isle of Palms:
- First, have your family select date ranges and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. 103 Grand Pavilion by AvantStay
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available online. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before you reserve the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what is optimal for your vacation family.
- Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your family is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Tips for a great stay:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Record any issues with the property during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute is filed.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
