Tricks and tips to get the best Isle of Palms rental experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Isle of Palms. Booking your vacation home in Spring or Fall is a good way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- In the Isle of Palms area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Isle of Palms visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Filter your search:
- Select dates and budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Oceanfront 1st Floor Condo!! Community Pool & Fishing Pier! In the Heart of IOP! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible online. If not, reach out to the host before you reserve the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone.
- At Check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
