How to book the best Isle of Palms vacation home experience:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Summertime is high season in the Isle of Palms area. Book your rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Isle of Palms area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.
How to choose the perfect rental home in Isle of Palms:
- Begin by choosing your trip dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Luxurious Villa with Ocean Views and Community Pool has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before booking the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your group.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular Isle of Palms beach you are crazy about, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
Additional considerations:
- Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the property manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a excellent vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
