Booking the best Isle of Palms vacation rental experience:

When to book a Isle of Palms rental & When to go:

  • Summer time is high season in Isle of Palms. Booking your Isle of Palms vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes.
  • The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Some property managers offer special rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many management companies supply Isle of Palms area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is best for your vacation group.
  • If there's a specific Isle of Palms attraction you love, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.

  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to compel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation.
