Strategies to get the very best rental home experience:

Finding the best rental value:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the largest rental within budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies usually offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Isle of Palms area visitors guides which include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Choose vacation week and budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Spacious Coastal Home with Private Pool & Close to the beach - 2 55th Ave has 10 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Isle of Palms rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property management company before booking your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your trip.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's an individual Isle of Palms destination you crave, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a excellent stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
