Tricks and tips for getting the best vacation home experience:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • In the Isle of Palms area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Summertime is high season in Isle of Palms. To find the largest vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, property management companies supply Isle of Palms area visitors guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Make a plan and pick the perfect Isle of Palms vacation home:

  • Select your vacation dates and budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Centrally located condo, Complex pool, Pier access, Close to beach - 204A Oceanside has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible online. Otherwise, email the property manager before you book the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine which bed configuration is right for your family.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking

Considerations for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • To make sure damages aren't attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Speak to the property manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to inspire new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
