Tips for getting the best Isle of Palms rental experience:
Get the best value:
- June, July, and August are high season in Isle of Palms. Reserve your rental home in Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the Isle of Palms area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Isle of Palms visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to choose the perfect rental in the Isle of Palms area:
- Begin by selecting trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Beachfront with OCEAN VIEWS in Wild Dunes Resort! Community Pool & Playground! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If not, email the host before booking the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is optimal for your vacation.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
- Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to propel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
