Tips for getting the best Isle of Palms rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To get the best rental home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Isle of Palms attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Isle of Palms visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
