Strategies to get the best vacation rental experience:
When to book a Isle of Palms rental & When to go:
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Isle of Palms area. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Isle of Palms area travel guide magazines that include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning, picking, and booking your Isle of Palms rental:
- Select your vacation dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Golf View, Pool, Pickleball, Stocked kitchen - 52 Fairway Dunes has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the host before reserving your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or could be applied to your agreement.
- Are you visiting for a single event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Some things to know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute is filed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent time? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
