Tips and Tricks to get the optimal rental experience:
Find your best deal:
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is an excellent way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- In the Isle of Palms area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Isle of Palms area visitor guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose and book your Isle of Palms vacation home:
- Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Modern Beach Home w\/Private Pool, 3 Master Suites & Short Walk to Beach! has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you book the home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your group.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or applied to your invoice.
Know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the host immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of issues.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
