Open House Details

The Avian Conservation Center welcomes you to an Open House on Saturday, September 21. During the Open House, we’re offering visitors an expanded experience that includes the opportunity to learn more about behind-the-scenes components of the Center, such as visits to the Avian Medical Clinic and SC Oiled Bird Treatment Facility. We’ll also provide opportunities for guests to enjoy special programming including interactive games and crafts for children, interesting specialty stations, and photography experiences.

Open House tickets will provide access to the games, crafts, specialty stations, Educator Tours, and Flight Demonstrations. Behind-the-scenes Clinic Tours and Photography Sessions can be added on for an additional fee once you have added the Open House tickets to your shopping cart. Make sure you don't forget to add these extra activities to your shopping cart as they are sure to sell out.

Open House admission is priced at our regular rate ($18 per adult, $12 per youth, under 6 are free) and complimentary admission is available for active members of the Center. To confirm your membership status or for information about memberships, please contact our Development Office. Please note, no discounts are available for the clinic tours or photography sessions.

There's even a chance to win a Premium Family Membership including some great merchandise by participating in our raffle. We are selling tickets for $20 a piece and will be drawing the winner that day at 5:00 pm and you do not have to be present to win. Valued at $427, this Premium Family Membership raffle package includes:

• Annual admission for parents and all minor children for one year
• 6 complimentary day-passes for friends and family
• Two complimentary tickets to one of the Center’s Owls by Moonlight programs in 2020

Itinerary

• 8:45 am - Gates open for early arrivals
• 9:15 am - Behind-the-scenes Clinic Tour & Photography Session*
• 10:00 am - Interactive games and crafts at Guest Services (running throughout the day)
• 10:30 am - Morning Guided Tour
• 11:30 am - Morning Flight Demonstration
• 1:15 pm - Behind-the-scenes Clinic Tour & Photography Session*
• 2:00 pm - Afternoon Guided Tour
• 3:00 pm - Afternoon Flight Demonstration
• 4:15 pm - Behind-the-scenes Clinic Tour & Photography Session*
• 5:00 pm - Raffle drawing and Thank You for attending

These programs require an additional fee and must be purchased at the time you make your Open House reservation. Behind-the-scenes Clinic Tours are $12 per person. Photography Sessions are $25 per person. Please note this event is weather dependent and if it must be canceled because of rain, no refunds will be issued as the event will be rescheduled for Saturday, September 28, 2019.*

2. Select the availability for either the Morning or Afternoon - Morning tickets include the 10:30 am Educator Tour and 11:30 am Flight Demonstration and Afternoon tickets include the 2:00 pm Educator Tour and 3:00 pm Flight Demonstration.
3. Choose the number of attendees by ticket type - Adult, Youth, or Under Six. If you are a Member of the Center, enter your promo code to receive complimentary admission.
4. Interested in the chance to win a Premium Family Membership plus merchandise valued at $427? Add raffle tickets to your order for just $20 apiece. We'll draw the winner at the end of the day and you do not need to be present to win.
