Strategies to get the optimal vacation rental experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in the Isle of Palms area. To book the largest vacation home within budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Look for your local Isle of Palms visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Make a plan and choose a perfect Isle of Palms rental home:

  • First and foremost, have your family decide on dates and a budget.
  • Gorgeous 2 Home Rental w\/ 12 BRs has 12 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before booking your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or charges might be applied to your contract.
  • Does your family require unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Advice for a terrific stay:

  • Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • To make certain damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the rental manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to inspire more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
