Isle of Palms rental booking tips and tricks:

Getting the best rental value:

  • Summer months are high season in the Isle of Palms area. To find the best value, try shifting your family's Isle of Palms vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local Isle of Palms area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Begin by selecting your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Gorgeous 2 Home Rental w\/ 12 BRs has 12 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Isle of Palms rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available online. Otherwise, email the property owner before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is best for your vacation.
  • If there's a certain Isle of Palms beach you love, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To make sure damages aren't linked to your stay, note any problem areas upon check in. Contact the property manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect your property!
  • On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to propel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
