Isle of Palms vacation rental home tips and tricks:
Get the most from your spending budget:
- In the Isle of Palms area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Summer is the most expensive season in Isle of Palms. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a good way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many management companies supply Isle of Palms area travel guide magazines which include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select your vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Luxe Interiors, Private Plunge Pool, Inside Wild Dunes Resort has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Isle of Palms rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property management company before reserving the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
Tips for your stay:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of issues.
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Speak to the rental manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a wonderful time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
