Tips for getting the perfect Isle of Palms vacation property experience:

How to get the best value:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Isle of Palms. To get the best value, consider changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Look for your local Isle of Palms area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain money saving offers on nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Filter your search:

  • Choose your dates and max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Sunny and Bright Beach Home, 4 Bedroom 3 Baths, Open Floor Plan, Near Beach has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Isle of Palms vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible online. Otherwise, contact the host before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what is best for your group.
  • If there's an individual Isle of Palms attraction you crave, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Tips to have a smooth stay:

  • Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure that damages are not linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
  • Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a wonderful stay? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
